Sophie IrishI am an Art Director who can turn her hand to both Prop making and Costume Design.

After a Fine Art Degree from Goldsmiths College I embarked on work experience at the BBC art department where I established a firm foundation in props, making anything and everything out of foam board for Dick & Dom in da’ Bungalow.  During that time I also made many of the more unusual costumes, which is where my costume designing began.  Sometime later, I started working on The Friday/Sunday Night Project where I began, as Assistant Art Director but as there was no separate Wardrobe, the next series I went onto run the Costume Department.  Now I alternate between Art Directing (Legend of Dick and Dom), Prop Making (All Star Mr. & Mrs. and Push the Button) and Costume Design (Alan Carr: Chatty Man).

I’ve made great contacts along the way, which involves me in things like running up garments for Lily Allen’s dancers at the Brits and making ridiculous costumes for private clients going to Bestival.  People know where to come when they’re in a crisis!  Colleagues tell me I’m great to work with and have a good sense of fun and the absurd. For me, nothing is too big a challenge or too small an ask.
